We want to focus on what we do best - sourcing and faceting gems and allow jewelers to do what they are best at - designing and marketing jewelry. We sell strictly to a network of dedicated professional jewelers and have no desire to go after our customers' clients.
We believe it is the most efficient and mutually beneficial way for everyone involved. Over the years, it has allowed us to get to know our customers through repeated business and build long-term relationships by nurturing trust and shared understanding. We value these relationships highly.
Yes, they are.
Since we sell strictly wholesale, we aren't able to sell to you directly. We'd be more than happy to connect you with a jeweler that we work with in your area. Send us a message and we'll get you in touch.

Prices & Payment
Wholesale. We are a b2b company, and it would make no sense to price our gems retail.
Bank wire & Credit card (depending on amount)
We want to save you the disappointment of your "purchased" stone being unavailable.
The stone you are looking at could currently be on a sales trip or at a trade show. When you request availability, we confirm that your particular stone is immediately available and then contact you to finalize shipping and payment details.
Photos & Videos
Sure! Please don't post them anywhere else without checking with us first though.
Please don't. Not even if you send us adorable pictures of kittens. If you do, we reserve the right to send Chuck Norris after you and no good could possibly come from that.
No. Our company began with the singular focus of being good cutters. 20 years later, it is still an all-consuming effort. It's what we're good at and passionate about.
Our clients, jewelers, are great at what they do - creating and marketing jewelry. Nurturing the network of business relationships with these professionals brings success to everyone involved.
We want to cooperate, not compete with our customers.
The name Nomad's describes our lifestyle and reflects how much we have to move in our work. It takes a lot of travel through mining areas to find beautiful gems to bring to our workshop and cut. Then we hit the road again to make sales at trade shows or by visiting jewelers in person.
It signifies travel through social milieu as well as geographic space; we buy from miners in the bush and desert and sell to the most refined high-society jewelers of Place Vendome and Fifth Avenue. To find common understanding and build friendships everywhere is a great adventure.
It also refers to an inner journey of personal growth in knowledge, understanding, and expertise. We started by mastering how to place facets and polish well. Now, as we move forward, we find ourselves acquiring unexpected skills: the arts of writing, photography, and web design. We're not sure what we'll learn next, but we're looking ahead eagerly.
The sun never sets on the Nomad's empire. :)
We have 3 offices: N. America, Europe and Asia and at any moment, there is also usually a sales person or two on the road.
No, unfortunately, we can't. There is a lot of risk in the cutting process. For example, internal stress may cause the stone to split, cracks may extend further than expected or color may lose intensity.
We don't want a relationship to be damaged because of an accident during cutting, so we've decided to only cut our own stones or stones we are partnered in. If you have a super-special stone and want to partner with us, send us a message.
It depends. Most small gems average about 4-5 hours, medium ones 8-12 hours, whereas some very special or large stones may take as long as 2 weeks. The most time-consuming part is polishing - the larger the facets, the longer it takes. We want the polish to be perfect, and we put in the time willingly.
No, each stone is cut by hand in our workshop. Each cutter receives a 'preform' (a pre-shaped rough) from the head cutter and then cuts the stone's actual facet pattern.
Other companies sometimes use automated cutting when cutting tiny (>2mm) stones, but we do everything by hand. We use cutting machines that allow us to precisely control the gems' position in 3 dimensions while on the polishing lap.
It's a sophisticated machine, but the cutters, not computers, control the process.
